Choosing a guide

The Lord of the world saith: O servants! Forsake your own desires and seek that which I have desired for you. Walk ye not without one to guide you on the way, and accept ye not the words of every guide. How numerous the guides who have gone astray and failed to discover the straight Path! He alone is a guide who is free from the bondage of this world and whom nothing whatsoever can deter from speaking the truth.

Pity the deprived

O servants of God! Deprived souls are heedless of this triumphant Day, and chilled hearts have no share of the heat of this blazing Fire.

How to treat a brother

The children of men are all brothers, and the prerequisites of brotherhood are manifold. Among them is that one should wish for one’s brother that which one wisheth for oneself. Therefore, it behoveth him who is the recipient of an inward or outward gift or who partaketh of the bread of heaven to inform and invite his friends with the utmost love and kindness. If they respond favourably, his object is attained; otherwise he should leave them to themselves without contending with them or uttering a word that would cause the least sadness. This is the undoubted truth, and aught else is unworthy and unbecoming.

What’s in store

Words as mild as milk?

… an enlightened man of wisdom should primarily speak with words as mild as milk, that the children of men may be nurtured and edified thereby and may attain the ultimate goal of human existence which is the station of true understanding and nobility.

(Bahá’u’lláh, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 172)

Such is the guidance. I will go with the “primarily” clause here, and claim an exception.
Posts for the foreseeable future will NOT be as mild as milk to some. If this applies to you, please do not be put off. Remember to check elsewhere for more appropriate answers.

See with your own eyes
Every person has their own world view which is built through life experience and their environment – mine includes a lot of assumptions regarding God, reality, religion, social etiquette, priorities in life, etc that are not shared by many. If you contact me, I will try and get you up to speed on the background behind what I have quoted or said. Either way, please investigate further for yourself to ascertain the truth of the matter.

O SON OF SPIRIT!
The best beloved of all things in My sight is Justice; turn not away therefrom if thou desirest Me, and neglect it not that I may confide in thee. By its aid thou shalt see with thine own eyes and not through the eyes of others, and shalt know of thine own knowledge and not through the knowledge of thy neighbor. Ponder this in thy heart; how it behooveth thee to be. Verily justice is My gift to thee and the sign of My loving-kindness. Set it then before thine eyes.
